1. Why Mamiqa was created
Most pregnancy information on the Polish internet is scattered across forums, supplement ads and articles written for search engines. The result: at two in the morning in week 24 of her pregnancy, a woman reads twenty contradictory opinions and still does not know what to do in the coming days.
We wanted to do the opposite. One page per week of pregnancy. Specifics: what is happening with your baby, what is happening with you, which tests are ahead of you, what is worth sorting out now. No scare tactics, no sensation and no selling supplements. The app is free — because access to reliable information about your own pregnancy should not depend on your budget.
2. How we work on the content
- Sources: we develop the content on the basis of publicly available guidelines on perinatal care, organisational standards of care for pregnant women and educational materials from public health institutions.
- Language: we write in Polish and use Polish names for tests, so that the content matches what you hear at your clinic.
- Tone: calm, specific, without scaring you. We always point out when to contact medical staff.
- Updates: we review the content whenever the guidelines change and with major app updates.
- Boundaries: we do not make diagnoses, we do not recommend medication or dosages, and we do not replace a doctor or midwife. We are not a healthcare provider.
3. Privacy is a product decision, not a feature
Mamiqa has no accounts, no login and no server. Your pregnancy is one of the most private pieces of information you can entrust to an app — so we built it in such a way that this data physically has nowhere to go. We do not make money from advertising or from data, because we do not collect them. Details: Privacy Policy.
4. How we keep the app running
Mamiqa is completely free — no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads and no sponsored content. We fund it from our own resources, because we believe that basic pregnancy information should not sit behind a paywall. We do not sell supplements or products inside health content, and the Hospital Bag list is an ordinary editorial collection of links to external shops.
